Discover the joy of creating with clay in this relaxed, hands‑on 4‑week handbuilding course. Designed for complete beginners as well as those looking to deepen their skills, this course guides you through the foundational techniques of working with clay while giving you plenty of space to explore your own creative style.
Each week focuses on a new skill, building your confidence as you create a small collection of unique, handmade pieces. All materials, tools, and firings are included — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get your hands a little muddy.
At the end of the 4 weeks you can select your 3 favourite pieces for firing and either book a short glaze course or choose your preferred glaze colour and collect your pieces at a later date.

Come along to beautiful Ardgillan Castle and make a flat ceramic piece of your choice (try decorative tiles, house numbers, hanging decorations, a spoon rest or coaster) and decorate with inlaid botanicals, lace, patterned stamps and rollers or carve your own decorative pattern.
Your favourite item will be bisque fired at the studio and you can chose from one of 3 coloured glazes or come along to another lesson and learn the glazing techniques yourself.
All materials and tools provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Your finished item will be ready to collect from the castle on Saturday 12th September.
